The Role: How you'll make an impact at Personio
This position can be hybrid from one of the following office locations: London, Madrid, Munich, Dublin, or Berlin.

You'll join the PTech Analytics team in a unique, high-impact role, partnering directly with senior Engineering leaders to drive improvements in product quality and engineering effectiveness across our entire portfolio. You'll tackle a wide range of challenges, from identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks to measuring the impact of new technologies on developer productivity. You'll own defining and measuring the metrics that matter, from page load times to engineering velocity, building on industry-standard frameworks and uncovering the insights that will help us build better products, faster. Your proactive insights, and data driven recommendations will directly influence product roadmaps and engineering practices across Personio.
Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Make an Impact: Use your data expertise to guide senior Engineering leaders in making data-driven decisions that improve product quality and team effectiveness.
  • Generate Insights: Analyze complex datasets (e.g. high volume telemetry data) to deliver actionable insights and clear recommendations that shape engineering & product strategy.
  • Define Success: Collaborate with Engineering leaders to define key metrics and set measurable goals (OKRs) that align with strategic priorities.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Create engaging dashboards and reports to monitor product and engineering performance.
  • Impact Measurement: Design measurement strategies (e.g. casual inference, AB testing) to measure the impact of new initiatives, tools and processes on engineering and product outcomes.
  • Data Modeling: Build scalable data models and pipelines in collaboration with data engineers, democratizing access to data and empowering teams to self-serve.
  • Drive Data Literacy: Foster a data-driven culture within Engineering by promoting data literacy and empowering teams to leverage data in their everyday work.


Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, with significant experience working closely with engineering teams to analyze and optimize product performance, quality, and development processes.
  • Expert SQL skills and a strong understanding of data modeling techniques (prior use of dbt is a bug plus)
  • Expert in creating compelling dashboards and visualizations in modern data visualisation tools (Looker, Tableau etc.)
  • Extensive experience analyzing engineering and product data, including developer productivity metrics, system performance data (e.g. logs, RUM, APM) and user behavior data.
  • Familiarity with common engineering tools and data sources, such as Datadog, Github, and CI/CD platforms.
  • Proven experience applying statistical concepts to real-world challenges. Solid foundation with Python or R.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
