We're looking for a dynamic Head of Hardware Engineering Delivery to join Optum UK. Reporting to the Group Delivery & Deployment Director, you'll lead strategy and planning for engineering services, oversee a large national field team, and work closely with third-party partners to deliver seamless hybrid solutions. This is a unique opportunity to influence business results and customer success while shaping future services and markets.
As Head of Hardware Engineering Delivery, you'll own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for hardware services and lead a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing a national Hardware Engineering team of approximately 55 professionals
  • Driving strategy for hardware engineering services to meet revenue targets and customer needs
  • Overseeing service delivery, supplier management, and operational performance
  • Ensuring compliance with certification standards, audits, and risk mitigation
  • Managing KPIs, SLAs, and reporting on service performance and improvement opportunities
  • Championing innovation through process automation and adoption of emerging technologies
  • Building strong customer communities and acting as the voice of the customer
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Support, Delivery, and Sales
  • Managing a multi-million-pound budget and resource planning
  • Promoting a culture of empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement

You'll be a strategic and technically skilled leader with a proven track record in hardware engineering delivery and service management. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience leading a nationally based hardware engineering team
  • Technical knowledge of hardware products and services, including x86 technologies (Dell, Fujitsu, HPE) and associated technologies (Networking, Storage, Printers)
  • Experience in service management/delivery roles
  • Expertise in resource and utilisation planning, process improvement, and automation
  • Commercial and financial awareness, including managing multi-million-pound budgets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver against short- and long-term objectives
  • Experience in hardware product lifecycle management (beneficial)
