Reporting to the Director - Communications (Global), TELUS Health is seeking a corporate communications professional to join its Communications team based in London, England. The ideal candidate for the Senior Manager, Communications & Change Management, EMEA position will be responsible for leading and managing public relations activities for the TELUS Health mandate across EMEA, with a focus on the Employer Solutions portfolio. This role involves close collaboration with the marketing and communications teams at both the local and global levels, management of regional spokespeople and agency resources and media relations expertise working to grow the TELUS Health brand through the successful execution of targeted PR strategies and campaigns.

What you’ll do

  • Increase TELUS Health’s brand awareness in EMEA with health, benefits, insurance, HR and business audiences.

  • Incorporate an “always on” approach to identify timely health and wellbeing trends that are regionally and culturally relevant in EMEA target markets and develop proactive newsworthy media pitches leveraging relevant  TELUS Mental Health Index or third-party industry report data generating media interest and positive coverage 

  • Execute best practice project management in the context of cross-functional teams including

  • external Public Relations agencies and freelancers within EMEA and close collaboration with TELUS Health’s Marketing and broader communications team. 

  • Support timely business developments or announcements by drafting, presenting and implementing regional media strategies, including embargo media plans or approaches that include measurable objectives.

  • Write compelling copy, clear and concise corporate press releases as well as partner releases with messaging that effectively tells TELUS Health’s story to our targeted external audiences.

  • Identify and build relationships with relevant media in key target markets and conduct regular outreach to provide resources and to help bolster consistent brand awareness and visibility.

  • Manage all media interviews opportunities conducting spokesperson training and prep as needed while drafting briefs with appropriate reporter background and messaging to ensure success.

  • Use workplace tools like Onclusive, Cision, Google Suite and Monday.com ensure coverage is monitored, captured and measured while tasks are properly assigned and executed on time and target. 

  • Coordinate and compile comprehensive wrap reports on PR activities that align to TELUS success criteria while identifying areas for growth to inform future strategies.

What you bring

  • 7-10  years of PR and corporate communications experience in a large complex corporate environment.

  • Diverse knowledge of healthcare environments; health information technology and/or employee wellbeing.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with and influence diverse cross-functional teams by effectively representing the TELUS Public Relations Team.

  • Project management expertise, with the ability to effectively engage diverse and remote teams maintaining a view of both the overall picture and the important details.

  • Highly adaptable to rapidly-changing situations and an ability to prioritize in the heat of the moment.

  • Ability to see the big picture and anticipate emerging issues and trends, and then tailor communications strategies and tactics to address them.

  • Excellent writing skills and proven success with press releases, strategic plans, reports and more.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, organization, prioritization and multitasking skills.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; other languages an asset.

  • Required Professional Designation/Certification: An undergraduate degree in marketing or journalism or equivalent post-secondary education.

  • Strong relationship building skills and keen attention to detail to ensure a clear understanding of the big picture and delivery of proactive and effective communications in the region on time and on budget. 

  • Agency and media experience is considered an asset.
