What you'll be responsible for:
As an integral member of the Accounting team, you will play a key role in supporting the global month-end close process and contributing to group accounting activities. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of financial and accounting functions, including managing the secondary ledger for the Group's international entities, overseeing accounting matters related to the incorporation and licensing of new entities, and coordinating local statutory audits. You will also support the regulatory reporting of the Group's regulated entities, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific requirements. The role will involve preparing key reports and management information, while working collaboratively with a variety of cross-functional teams across the business.
What you'll work on:

• Lead a high-performing team of accountants, ensuring accurate financial records and delivering key reports and presentations.
• Review and analyse financial and regulatory data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and meaningful insights across global operations.
• Own the end-to-end statutory audit process for international entities-acting as the main point of contact for auditors and delivering clean audits on time, every time.
• Prepare statutory financial statements , including detailed footnote disclosures and US GAAP to IFRS/ local GAAP reconciliations, ensuring seamless periodic reporting.
• Partner with Technical Accounting to assess the impact of new products, complex transactions, and one-off events, making sure local GAAP requirements are correctly applied.
• Drive regulatory reporting for licensed entities , collaborating with the compliance and other cross-functional teams and external advisors to meet evolving requirements and support market expansion.
• Work across departments to support strategic initiatives, manage risk, and contribute to successful new product launches with strong financial oversight.
• Ensure strong internal controls by partnering with the SOX and Internal Controls team, safeguarding company assets and upholding financial integrity.
• Support FP&A with budgeting and forecasting for international legal entities, aligning operational performance with financial strategy.

What you'll bring to Circle:

• Over 12 years of relevant accounting experience , ideally gained at a Big 4 firm within their financial services, Treasury or FinTech teams, and/or within high-growth FinTech companies, banking, or the payments sector. This blend of experience is highly valued for the role.
• Deep understanding of IFRS , with proven experience preparing financial statements in line with IFRS standards (essential). Exposure to US GAAP is also beneficial.
• Strong background in managing multiple international audits independently , serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors and consultants. Demonstrated ability to lead the full audit cycle, from planning through to final reporting and sign-off.
• Experience in regulatory reporting -including FINREP, COREP, capital adequacy and other regulatory returns-is highly desirable, especially within a financial services or regulated environment.
• Excellent time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills , with the ability to handle complex accounting workflows and deliver on cross-functional projects under tight timelines.
• Solid experience working in multinational environments , including multi-currency operations, acquisition accounting and group-level consolidation accounting.
• Hands-on and strategic approach -capable of diving into detailed technical work when needed, while also effectively managing broader accounting workstreams and priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities , with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
