  • Manage cross-border data transfer arrangements (e.g., SCCs, IDTA) and support contract negotiations with privacy implications.
  • Lead compliance initiatives such as internal investigations, training programs, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Advise on legal and ethical aspects of AI-related initiatives, including data use, model governance, and regulatory alignment.
  • Collaborate with HR, leadership, and cross-functional teams to align legal risk with business goals in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.
  • Monitor legal developments in employment, privacy, and compliance, and manage external counsel in litigation or regulatory matters as needed.

You Must Have

  • Law degree from a recognized university and qualification to practice in an EMEA jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of experience in employment law, compliance, and privacy, preferably in an international tech company or law firm.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and global data privacy regulations.
  • Experience in HR compliance, employment litigation risk management, and internal investigations.
  • Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proactive and business-friendly approach.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently while collaborating across teams.

It’s a Plus If You Have

  • CIPPE certification
  • Previous experience in a fast-growing SaaS or tech company.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
