Senior IT Project Manager
Job Description
About the Role: We are seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This primarily home-based role, with occasional travel, is crucial for managing and delivering multiple projects across various IT domains. You will ensure alignment with strategic goals, foster collaboration, and drive projects to successful completion within scope, time, and budget.
What You'll Do:
End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from requirements gathering and planning through execution, monitoring, and successful delivery.
Strategic Alignment & Stakeholder Management: Translate business needs into technical specifications and ensure project activities align with strategic objectives. Work closely with business and IT stakeholders, facilitating communication to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including scope documents, governance packs, project charters, RACI matrices, status reports, risk management, and change management plans.
Risk & Issue Management: Implement robust risk management processes to identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks. Maintain up-to-date RAID logs and manage project updates, risks, and issues effectively.
Reporting & Communication: Produce regular, accurate project reports and updates, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress, milestones, risks, and issues. Set up and manage relevant calls and communication for project updates and stakeholder engagement.
Multi-Project Oversight: Confidently manage multiple concurrent projects across diverse IT domains such as Cyber Security, Information Security, Infrastructure, Data, and Business Applications.
PMO Integration: Utilize PMO knowledge to support tasks, ensure adherence to PMO standards, and assist in developing/implementing PMO processes, templates, and best practices. Participate in PMO governance activities like reviews and audits.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Success:
On-time and on-budget project delivery.
Accuracy and clarity of project status updates and RAID logs.
Quality of project deliverables against predefined standards.
High stakeholder satisfaction.
Effective resource utilization.
Proactive and effective risk mitigation.
What You'll Bring:
Experience: At least 10 years of proven IT Project Management experience, including managing multiple projects across diverse IT towers (Cyber Security, Information Security, Infrastructure, Data, Business Applications).
Methodologies: Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software tools such as Smartsheet and Jira is highly desirable. Proficiency in Google Workspace.
Core Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, communication, planning, and organizational skills. Competent in risk and change management processes.
Documentation Expertise: Skilled in creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation (Scope, Governance Packs, Project Charters, RACIs, etc.) and producing regular project reports.
PMO Knowledge: Strong PMO knowledge and experience supporting PMO tasks.
Qualifications: PRINCE2 certification and some form of Agile skills. Relevant educational background in IT or a related field.
