What do we do?
Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payment fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better.
We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 5000 software sellers in 245 territories globally.
The Role:
As a Senior Front-end Software Engineer in our Payments Group, you’ll be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of Paddle’s checkout — the highest-traffic and most critical component of Paddle, processing hundreds of millions of dollars per month.
With an owner-operator mindset, you’ll collaborate with multiple teams alongside engineers, product managers, designers, as well as security and infrastructure experts to achieve success, develop your own skills, and grow your career.
What you'll do:
Together with your team, develop and maintain seamless and secure user journeys across Paddle’s checkout and payment flows.
Contribute high-quality Typescript code in a large codebase, in both existing and brand new settings
Apply your understanding of the latest web and browser APIs and techniques to help us build the best-converting checkout on the internet
Collaborate on features to a high standard from initial concept and planning, right through to rollout, with other engineers and non-technical colleagues, and with excellent written and verbal communication
Level-up the team’s engineering practices through mentoring other engineers, leading the technical planning of team initiatives, and driving improvements to quality, with an eye for edge-cases
Practise DevOps: you’re responsible for getting your code to production, supporting and monitoring its performance
We'd love to hear from you if you:
Have a strong technical background with skills in: TypeScript, React, Vite + Vitest
Have experience designing and building high-traffic and revenue-critical user interfaces
Enjoy a collaborative product development process from design through to deployment and maintenance and what that means for day-to-day development
Have a proactive attitude towards finding ways to improve the code and team processes
A strong understanding of the development process - from design through to deployment, maintenance, and what that means for day-to-day development
Are someone who takes pride in what you build, with an eye for detail and edge-cases
