Job Description

Due to continued expansion of the business there is a requirement for an Accountant to join the finance team. This role will be responsible for helping prepare and maintain monthly management accounts, undertaking balance sheet reconciliations, helping drive the businesses continuous improvement cycle, have experience of and a sound working knowledge of accounting standards and be able to apply them and assisting with Group reporting to head office on a monthly basis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:  Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts;
  • Checking the accuracy of the information generated by the financial system and where necessary correct by making appropriate amendments with the agreement of the financial controller;
  • To assist in maintaining accurate information regarding control accounts;
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciiliations;
  • To undertake ad hoc financial and management tasks as instructed by the financial controller;
  • Contribute to internal financial reporting;
  • Management of Purchase Ledger team;
  • Review of weekly bank payments to suppliers;
  • Cost and variation analysis;
  • Assistance with the budgeting and forecasting process;
  • Assisting with reviews and evaluations for cost reduction opportunities;
  • Assisting with Group reporting;
  • Assisting with the company’s external audit; and
  • Contribute to further development of systems, processes and procedures within the businesses.

Skills and Experience

Experience (essential):

  • Fully qualified Accountant and member of a recognised accounting body
  • Audit background
  • Extensive IT skills and experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • A sound knowledge of debits/credits, business systems and processes and ability to work on your own initiative

Experience (desirable):

  • IT Industry experience 
  • Advanced knowledge or accredited professional training in SAGE accounts
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience
  • IFRS application and understanding
  • Experience managing a team

    This is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in either our Belfast Office, London Office or Wisborough Green office.​​​​​​
