Senior Expert Product Manager - Central Product Safety, Sustainability and Compliance (all genders)
As a Principal Product Manager (all genders) in Zalando's Central Product Safety & Compliance team, you will be key in building solutions that make understanding and adhering to regulatory compliance clear and easy for our internal teams, partners, and ultimately our customers. Your work will directly contribute to building trust by ensuring transparent access to information regarding product safety, sustainability, and quality assurance as we continue to develop our tech landscape.
As the regulatory requirements within product safety and sustainability require more data to be collected, stored and visible to our customers, this role is a central part of our team to enable solutions while focusing on finding good solutions that balances our obligations and partner friendliness.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)In collaboration with Principal Product Managers and key stakeholders across Zalando's Product and Engineering teams, lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle. This involves partnering with the Product Regulatory team and Engineering teams from initial discovery and opportunity sizing through to execution and launch
Lead the product strategy and end-to-end delivery of scalable compliance solutions across the Product Safety, Sustainability, and Quality domains throughout the entire product development process.
Build and deliver data-driven compliance products efficiently and effectively by applying strong product development practices to make regulatory product data actionable, transparent, and customer-facing.
Translate complex regulatory requirements into usable tools, processes and experiences, understanding the engineering landscape to ensure feasible and controlled implementation at scale.
Clearly communicate legal requirements and priorities, guiding and supporting teams to correctly interpret them and align with timelines.
Collaborate with legal, sustainability, partner, and engineering teams to plan, escalate, and ensure appropriate resource allocation for timely compliance.
Drive the creation of practical compliance solutions by translating legal interpretations in collaboration with the Central Product Compliance and Sustainability matter experts.
You have 5+ years of experience as a product manager, ideally in compliance, sustainability, or regulation-heavy domains.
You’re impact-driven and structured in solving complex problems at scale.
You’re confident working with data products and understanding the full data lifecycle.
You can turn regulatory requirements into clear, actionable product direction.
You’re a strong communicator who aligns legal, tech, and business teams.
You thrive in fast-paced environments and drive topics across multiple teams.
You bring curiosity and challenge the status quo with innovative thinking.
You can navigate regulatory ambiguity and turn it into business impact
