How you’ll make an impact

The Senior Events Manager (UK) sits within the Regional Marketing team and supports business growth by delivering key marketing events across the UK that enhance our communities' connection and understanding of Xero. Xero events are world-renowned for delivering on our brand promise, motivating and moving audiences. You will work with key stakeholders to lead and deliver end-to-end event experiences that capture our brand promise and support the UK operating plan. 

You will be a senior individual contributor in the events team, who can be counted on to contribute to and execute on the UK event strategy while constantly striving to go above and beyond for our customers, whilst delivering UK business OKRs and the role Xero events play to meet these is key to this role. 

You will be a key member of a small team who will share responsibility for our portfolio of events, including Xerocon, Xero Roadshow and the Xero Awards, as well as our presence at external industry events. An important aspect of this role will be maintaining a high degree of organisation, communication and project management skills, as well as establishing and maintaining highly collaborative relationships across a wide range of cross-functional teams throughout the organisation. 

What you’ll do

  • Plan and deliver world-class Xero events across the UK, including but not limited to Xerocon, Xero Roadshow, and Xero Awards, as well as our sponsorship or participation at external industry events. 
  • Includes, but is not limited to, leading the end-to-end project management across all workstreams, event concept and theme development, objective setting, content planning, tracking metrics and budget setting. 
  • Work with key stakeholders, including internal teams and external suppliers, to deliver high-quality events that align with business strategic objectives and integrate with the UK marketing plan. 
  • Be a key contributor to the UK event strategy, aligning with the global event strategy and organisational goals. 
  • Be an active custodian of the Xero brand across all events and ensure the brand guidelines are followed during project planning and delivery – especially when working with third-party production companies. 
  • Create efficiencies where relevant across all UK events, ensuring consistency in the way we execute by way of creating/updating and rolling out appropriate operating processes. 
  • Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (Marketing, Product, Comms, Education, Creative, Agency and Sales Teams) to ensure successful outcomes are delivered. 
  • Provide guidance and mentorship within the broader marketing team, stepping up when required as 2IC to Head of Events. 
  • Pay close attention to detail, recognising every element of event production matters to delivering the desired customer experience. No job or detail is too small to go unattended. 
  • Own event objectives, including tracking and post-implementation reviews with key learnings, ROI, attendee engagement, etc. 
  • Own event briefs for internal and external creative and agency teams, working in partnership with relevant marketing and business stakeholders to ensure our event presence is adequately resourced, on brand and delivered to a high standard. 
  • Communicate updates with relevant stakeholders and the business more broadly, as well as owning and leading staff briefings and retro meetings.


  • Specific responsibilities 
  • Sponsorship management
  • Be the point of contact for sponsorships which require event team support. 
  • Ensure deliverables are executed as per agreed contracts. 
  • Managing requirements such as stand logistics, registrations, lead capture, staffing schedules, and content delivery. 
  • Liaising with third parties, internal creative teams and external suppliers on deliverables. 
  • Work closely with the partner/SB marketing and other relevant teams to deliver content and meet broader marketing objectives. 

  • Reporting 
  • Provide relevant event insight and feedback, supported by data analytics, to key stakeholders. 
  • Share findings/results & learnings across the marketing team and broader business teams. 
  • Deliver post-event strategic recommendations to the broader UK team and wider business. 

  • Event Technology 
  • Responsible for the consistent use of event technology for UK Xero events. 
  • Proactively look for areas of innovation, efficiency, utilisation and any additional requirements, and provide recommendations on improvements that could be implemented to ensure best possible event experiences for our teams and customers.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Operations Team when required to implement new or improve existing processes. 

Success looks like

  • Ensure all elements of UK events are designed to achieve growth/uplift across key business metrics, including brand, NPS, event attendance as well as sales pipeline where relevant. 
  • Owning the successful planning and delivery of our portfolio of world class UK events executed on time, to budget and with clear measurable ROI where appropriate. 
  • Establishing yourself as a valuable resource to the UK GTM teams and global brand and activations team. 
  • Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders. 

What you’ll bring with you

  • Extensive relevant event management/marketing experience. 
  • Proven experience in the delivery of timely and outcome-focused events/campaigns. 
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and/or compare results and identify key learnings. From these key learnings, ability to make solid, strategic program level recommendations. 
  • Competency in Salesforce & Event management software
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills. 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills. 
  • Proven event and marketing skills understanding end-to-end marketing event management. 
  • Proven ability in collaborating with and influencing others by adapting approach to suit the individual in order to achieve the right outcomes.
