About the role
Step into a pivotal role as a senior leader in our Central Engineering team, driving the successful execution of McCain GB's fiscal Capital plans! You'll spearhead capital investment projects across all McCain GB sites, ensuring top-tier standards in safety, cost, quality, timing, and full legal and regulatory compliance.
In this dynamic position, you'll take charge of the Regional Major Projects portfolio, strategically managing resources to maximize cost-effectiveness and impact. Leading multi-disciplinary teams, you'll navigate complex, high-value projects that shape the future of our business. As our team and structure evolve, this role offers the potential to develop direct reports, giving you the opportunity to grow and lead within McCain GB.
Collaboration is key-you'll work closely with site-based project engineers, as well as Plant and Regional management teams, to drive innovation and efficiency across our operations. If you're ready to make a lasting impact, we want you on board!
Responsibilities
• Leadership of safety in engineering: Ensure that all projects are compliant with the PSMS (Project Safety Management System) and all KPI's are tracked to deliver projects safely• Developing Project Plans: Create detailed project plans that outline resource and budgetary needs.• Team Coordination: Host regular project meetings with team members and managers to provide updates and feedback.• OEM Management: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.• Risk Management: Identify and manage risks, taking corrective actions when necessary.• Quality Control: Perform quality control throughout the project to maintain expected standards.• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact, communicating project status to all participants and stakeholders.• Performance Monitoring: Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques• Financial control: ensure all projects are delivered OTIF and financial reporting and investment follow up is completed• Engage and advise: All sites on capital planning and capital submissions
Further Responsibilities:
• Advise & support on Engineering best practice and standards• Embed the Project Stage Gate approach across the business and ensure the necessary processes are adhered to. Also review and develop this approach through project evaluation and lessons learnt.• Develop and Launch Initiative - map & engage stakeholders• Drive Execution start-up• Oversee governance & Assessment programme• Roll out go-live to all Plants
About you
• Engineering Qualification • Relevant project management experience (£20m+)• Leadership of multi-disciplined teams • H&S Qualifications• Strong communicator • Proven budgeting & cost control• Knowledge of SAP & SAP Project

Scarborough:
You'll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it's definitely not stuck in the past. It's one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it's also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come!
