Role Summary
Pfizer is harnessing the power of data and AI across all its core functions - from R&D to Medical, Manufacturing and Commercial - to advance our purpose of bringing breakthroughs to patients. This role will assist the Lead Compliance Counsel in building an effective Privacy Compliance program to support the execution of data-driven business initiatives, including governance, risk assessment, training, third party risk management and related controls. This role will entail proactive compliance work to mitigate privacy risk across the enterprise.
Role Responsibilities
Engage in proactive compliance activities to ensure effective privacy risk management across Pfizer, including: (i) developing effective privacy governance, (ii) enhancing formal risk assessment and mitigation programs for use of personal data; (iii) supporting implementation of new policies, guidance and procedures (iv) training and outreach efforts; (v) anticipation of emerging trends and changes to the political, legal and regulatory landscape; and (vi) development of additional controls to enhance a culture of integrity.
This role will entail significant work on high-priority, cross-functional projects to mitigate risk related to the rapid advancement of innovative technology across the enterprise.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR JD with 7+ years of relevant experience; Relevant experience includes working in a Compliance or privacy program development related role in a fast-paced dynamic environment managing complex projects.
  • Top law firm, government or in-house compliance experience involving practical application of US healthcare laws and/or privacy laws - e.g., investigations, risk assessments, compliance program development, product counsel, privacy counsel, R&D counsel, regulatory counsel, or similar experience - required
  • Excellent written and oral skills and ability to translate complex information is required
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with senior audiences and aligning cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and the flexibility to easily adapt to changing priorities
  • Highly agile and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • J.D. or foreign equivalent will be considered for a Compliance Counsel role
  • Significant privacy experience preferred
  • Prior experience counseling clients or developing compliance programs focused on digital/tech. law, privacy, artificial intelligence, software medical devices, digital health, or other rapidly evolving areas of law a plus

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $204,700.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
