Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('SpinCo') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
As the Senior Director of Security, you will be responsible for overseeing the physical security operations of all NBCUniversal locations outside the United States. This includes managing security for our corporate offices, employees, talent, and high-profile events across multiple countries. You will be the key strategist and leader in developing, implementing, and executing security plans for large-scale events.
This position requires a blend of strategic leadership, operational expertise, and hands-on experience in event security and risk management. You will lead a team of security professionals across multiple regions and be responsible for advising on security-related matters in diverse and challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Security Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for NBCUniversal's international offices and events. This includes creating long-term security plans that ensure the protection of employees, talent, intellectual property and assets.
Special Event Security: Lead the planning and execution of security strategies for large-scale events such as sports events, premieres, corporate events, and other high-profile gatherings in various countries. You will oversee all aspects of event security from risk assessment to the deployment of personnel and technology.
Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify potential security risks across all regions and implement proactive measures to mitigate those risks. Provide actionable recommendations to minimise risk and maintain secure environments for employees and talent.
Global Security Operations: Oversee and manage physical security operations in international locations, ensuring consistency and alignment with global security standards. This includes managing security personnel, vendors, and technologies across multiple offices and sites.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a global team of security professionals across multiple locations. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide training, guidance, and resources to ensure high-performance and effective security operations.
Internal Partnership: Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, human resources, operations, and event management, to integrate security strategies into day-to-day operations. Act as a trusted business partner to senior leadership and other stakeholders, providing expert advice on security matters and supporting the business in achieving its goals while ensuring robust security.
Ad-hoc Executive Protection: While not a primary focus, direct executive protection support when necessary for senior leaders or high-profile talent, coordinating with internal and external resources.
Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all security operations comply with local laws, regulations, and best practices. Continuously evaluate and improve security procedures to align with industry standards and global security trends.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement, security, or intelligence for government agencies or major multinational corporations, with a focus on physical security, special events, and risk management. Experience in a global context is highly desirable, especially in multiple countries and diverse environments.
- Extensive experience in organising, managing, and executing security for large-scale events such as sports events, premieres, corporate gatherings, and other high-profile occasions.
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams of security professionals across multiple locations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think critically and strategically, creating long-term security plans while remaining flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
- Ability to manage security risks and operations across diverse geographies and cultures, with an understanding of global security trends and regional challenges.
- Bachelors degree.
- Must be willing to be on call and available 24/7 for emergencies.
- Must be willing to travel, as needed, and at times on short notice.
