Role overview
The Senior Data Scientist will lead in the identification and creation of cutting-edge data assets and predictive models that feed into Hastings’ market-leading pricing activities. This role is within the Claims and Fraud Data Science Team championing the adoption of the latest machine learning (ML) techniques to leverage powerful insights from vast amounts of customer information.

Your remit will include the following:

Develop best in-class models to predict claims outcomes, fraud and other risk KPIs

Engineer powerful new rating factors to be deployed into our rating algorithms

Identify, analyse and monetise new data sources
Essential skills/experience:
-
Strong technical modelling skills
-
Proven track record of delivering commercial value
-
Keen interest in emerging ML techniques and how these can be used within Underwriting & Pricing

Strong SQL skills
-
Proficiency in R and/or Python
-
Strong senior stakeholder management and communication skill
Desirable

Experience with using GitHub as a code collaboration tool

Ability to work with different teams
