Smartly has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Content Marketing Manager to join our global marketing team to help us design and execute a vision for superior content that delivers on thought leadership, and drives action to influence revenue.
The Senior Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for crafting Smartly’s content strategy, activation, and production. You will also help enable Marketing’s impact on the business by monitoring content metrics and with the interest of maintaining best practices. You’ll be designing and executing on the content strategy to get in front of our target audience - enterprise B2C marketers and their agencies. This role will be based in one of our Smartly offices and report to the VP of Growth Marketing.
As the Senior Content Marketing Manager at Smartly, you will …
- Develop and execute the content strategy that supports business goals and meet business objectives
- Design a multi-level content strategy covering 101, 201, and 301 level content, that is also designed to align with different personas and buying stages
- Own Smartly’s editorial guidelines and content calendar - align content with key marketing dates, and ensure the delivery of content meets those dates
- Be a key member of the Growth Marketing team, supporting ABM campaigns and lead nurturing programs to bring leads from interested to engage
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer teams, Partnerships, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing and Customer Marketing to produce content
- Partner with key subject matter experts across the company, develop compelling content that drives results
- Design and own how Smartlies, and external thought leaders, can contribute to our blog and gated content
- Take full ownership of content - write, edit, and deliver compelling copy
- Lead all aspects of and manage content projects, reviewing and approving content built within the company and by freelance contributors
- Write and optimize short form writing - such as for email or landing pages - that drive an action
- Leverage AI tools to produce high quality content, at scale
- Own Smartly’s editorial guidelines and content calendar
- Enable Sales and CS teams with content to leverage with their own contacts
- Analyze and optimize content by owning all content KPIs, making adjustment based on data and providing performance reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
We're definitely looking for you, if you have …
- 5 - 8 years proven content marketing experience developing compelling content both as an editor and a hands-on writer with a preference for prior B2B marketing experience
- At least 1 year of reporting on content performance
- Adtech, martech or digital marketing experience is a plus
- Experience with SEO and A/B testing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to receive and give constructive feedback
- The desire to learn and grow, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A solid understanding of the importance of brand voice and an eye for high-quality content
- Cross-functional approach and experience in working with diverse teams and roles
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to meet deadlines
