We are seeking a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of industry regulations, experience in improving products or services, and be comfortable with both verbal and written communication. Bonus points for those with product management exposure or knowledge of the motor insurance sector!

We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Executive - Product to join our Commercial & Marketing team either working remotely or based in our Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex offices. 

In this role you’ll provide support in delivering the product strategy and retail income in line with agreed budget targets. You will support with product oversight and governance to ensure value is delivered for our customers whilst meeting regulatory requirements.

Core skills we’re looking for to succeed in the role:

  • Understanding of insurance/financial services industry, its products and key regulations
  • Proven problem solving skills, with experience of identifying improvements to products or services
  • Great communication skills, comfortable with both verbal and written mediums

Nice to have skills, but optional:

  • Product management experience/exposure
  • Knowledge of specifically the motor insurance industry

What’s involved:

  • Support the delivery of the product strategy for the core motor products, optional ancillary products and premium finance product.
  • Support the delivery of non-technical income across ancillary, premium finance and fees; including both process and performance.
  • Support the implementation of product governance in-line with regulatory requirements, including new product design, the review of existing products and delivery of changes to improve the value for our customers.
  • Ensure the provision of product disclosures are kept up to date within customer journeys and documentation.
  • Lead on the regular performance reporting of non-technical income.
  • Provide support with the day-to-day management of our commercial partners by building strong stakeholder relations both externally and with internal cross functional teams.
  • Embed the relationship management framework by co-ordinating performance review meetings, circulating agreed agendas, minutes and actions
  • Maintain a detailed activity tracker for each commercial partner
  • Proactive role in implementing tactical commercial trading initiatives ensuring that financial implications are considered, and business cases are robust.
  • Support the maintenance of the risk register (as applicable), providing evidence and commentary for controls, updates for mitigating actions and maintaining control matrices and attestations
  • Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times
  • Ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times
  • Any other reasonable duties

Experience & knowledge

  • Experience of working within a highly regulated environment.
  • Understanding of the insurance/financial services industry, its products and key regulations.
  • Confidence in interacting and working with Manager’s, both internal and external.
  • Supporting or managing commercial relationships
  • Excellent understanding of motor insurance, ancillary products and the motor insurance industry
  • Detailed knowledge of aggregator sites and their commercial operation
  • Detailed understanding of the business objectives
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including TCF)

  • Good to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Word & Excel
