The Opportunity:

As a Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. You will work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure high availability and reliability of our services. Your expertise will help us optimize our network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure security across our network.

This role offers a hybrid work environment with three days a week in our local office.

Your Mission:

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud network infrastructure, including VPCs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Work with internal teams to monitor and ensure the reliability and performance of the cloud network. Conduct regular analysis and optimization of cloud network performance.
  • Evaluate and optimize the scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness of network resources/solutions.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for cloud network security.
  • Promote effective collaboration and communication with other teams, stakeholders, and leadership to align initiatives with overall business objectives. Participate actively in cross-functional discussions and contribute to the broader engineering community.
  • Keep documentation up to date for cloud network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, staying informed about industry trends and best practices. Share knowledge and mentor other engineers on cloud networking.
  • Explore and propose new approaches, technologies, and methodologies to enhance organizational practices.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Proven track record as an individual contributor with 5+ years of experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and in-depth experience with either AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience in programming languages like Go or Python for implementing services.
  • Ability to drive innovation in networking, stay up to date with industry trends, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent skills in collaborating and communicating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to align networking initiatives with business objectives.

Nice to Have:

  • Proven experience building and managing service mesh architectures within Kubernetes environments, preferably utilizing technologies like Istio.
  • Experience in architecting and managing network infrastructures across multiple cloud environments with a focus on building fault-tolerant and resilient systems.
