What you will do

As a Senior Business Analyst at Hastings Direct, you’ll play a key role in delivering data-driven technology solutions across large and medium-sized projects.
You’ll evaluate business systems end-to-end, translate user needs into clear, actionable specifications, and ensure technical changes meet business requirements.
Working closely with both business and technical teams, you’ll lead workshops, interpret complex data, and help shape solutions that drive real impact.
A strong understanding of the insurance industry and hands-on experience in data analysis are essential.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably gained within the insurance industry
• Methodical approach to problem solving
• Detailed analytical abilities, inquisitive nature and not settling until all questions answered and understood.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely in order for members of change and non-change areas to understand quickly and make appropriate business decisions.

Specific technology skills

  • Understand database design 
  • Ability to logically model data 
  • Ability to interpret XML and XSD
  • Solid understanding of data Warehouse structures and processes
  • Ability to read SQL and write SQL queries
  • Knowledge of Snowflake 
  • Ability to use data visualisation tools (such as Power BI) 
  • Cloud Consumption and Automation Tools 
  • Python& Cosmos (advantageous)
