The Role:

Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, the Senior Business Analyst works with business stakeholders and hybrid delivery teams related to the Ecommerce Re-platform project.

The role covers the full project lifecycle i.e. from the elaboration of requirements and/or user stories through to UAT and go-live. The project priority is the workshopping of requirements for the Ecommerce Re-platform project and writing these up in functional documentation.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and Hybrid Working will apply - minimum 3 days per week in the office and maximum 2 days per week working from home. The successful candidate will ideally join the business in October.

Duties and Reponsibilities:

− Analyse and understand project scope and core objectives
− Lead requirements elaboration workshops with business stakeholders to define high level business requirements
− Proactively manage business stakeholders either directly or indirectly through the Project Manager
− Gather and organise requirements into functional areas and help the business to prioritise the requirements
− Prepare the functional design workshop plan and agendas for each workshop
− Lead functional design workshops with business stakeholders and solution architect to elicit detailed, low level functional requirements
− Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into their constituent details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.
− Collaborate with Solution architect, Design/Tech Leads and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
− Proactively communicate and collaborate with both project team members and development partners to  analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artefacts as needed: 
o functional design specification
o support the design team in the creation of wireframes/prototypes
o business process flow diagrams
o support the solution architect with data models
− Obtain sign-off from business stakeholders on the functional specifications
− In conjunction with the technical architect, plan and present to the design and/or development team and other internal stakeholders to the project ensuring the team understand the project scope, core objectives  and key functional requirements.
− Be proactive in ensuring that the development and QA teams understand the requirements and initiating functional clarification sessions where needed. 
− Be the liaison between the business, the design and/or development team and the support team.
− Review the test plan and test scripts to ensure quality and coverage of the testing
− Provide training material and run training sessions for business users when necessary

Skills and Experience Required:

− Proven previous working experience as a Senior Business Analyst on a digital project 
− Demonstrable track record in software development and end to end experience of the project lifecycle. (Agile and Waterfall)
− Experience in successfully leading requirement elicitation workshops with technology and business professionals is essential 
− Ability to successfully challenge business requirements in order to truly understand the underlying needs of the business and arrive at the best possible outcome
− Demonstrable experience in writing requirements specifications for Digital solutions. 
− Candidate must be an exceptionally clear communicator including facilitation, presentation and written skills and must have the ability to be pragmatic and drive strong scope management disciplines. Able to communicate conceptual ideas
− Aware of best practices and innovative initiatives in the ecommerce/multichannel environment.
− Experience of usability and accessibility would be an advantage.
− Observational skills, to validate information obtained through other methods, deepen the  understanding about business processes, and so on.
− Analytical skills, to critically evaluate data gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicting requirements, break down high-level information into their constituent details, abstract from particular examples to a more general understanding, identify underlying needs from explicit user requests, etc.
− Ability to gather vast array of information during elicitation and analysis & manage time effectively. 
− Teamwork skills, to share responsibilities, confer with others, help others do their jobs, and seek help when needed.
− Negotiating skills, to get consensus about priorities, help resolve conflicts among project stakeholders.
− Qualification in Business Analysis (preferred)
