At Westpac, we're looking for a curious and commercially minded Senior Analytics & Insights Specialist to help transform complex data into meaningful insights, actionable recommendations, and better business decisions.


This isn't just a reporting role. You'll work alongside stakeholders across the business to understand challenges, uncover opportunities, and bring the right information to the right people at the right time. Along the way, you'll help develop analytical solutions, decision-support tools, and reporting capabilities that enable smarter commercial outcomes.

As a Senior Analytics & Insights Specialist, you'll be at the intersection of data, strategy, and decision-making.


You'll partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, gather requirements, and deliver reporting, visualisation, and analytical solutions that bring complex information to life. Using large and varied datasets, you'll uncover insights into performance, customer behaviour, market dynamics, and commercial opportunities.


You'll also play a key role in supporting business-critical analytical capabilities, helping to develop data models, reporting solutions, and insights that support strategic and commercial decision-making.


What you'll be doing

  • Create dashboards, visualisations, and reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Build and maintain analytical models that support business decision-making.
  • Support the development and enhancement of business-critical reporting and decision-support tools.
  • Deliver insights that help shape pricing, performance, portfolio, and customer strategies.
  • Analyse trends, market dynamics, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Present findings in a way that is clear, compelling, and tailored to a range of audiences.

You'll likely bring:

  • Strong experience delivering analytics, reporting, insights, or business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience building analytical models or decision-support solutions that influence business outcomes.
  • A talent for turning complex data into clear stories that people understand and act on.
  • Experience creating impactful dashboards and visualisations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced SAS and/or SQL capability, with experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Confidence gathering requirements and partnering with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation.
  • Strong commercial thinking and the ability to connect insights to business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and genuine curiosity to understand how things work.

Experience within financial services is helpful but not essential.
