Quadient is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract role to support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and system migration. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity of month-end processes, revenue recognition, and financial analysis for our locker network solution.

This position is offered on a hybrid basis at our Stratford, London office (2 days/week in office, 3 days working from home)

Your role in our future

  • Prepare and post revenue and cost of sales recognition journals for both private and open network for lockers ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

  • Post and reconcile payroll journals in accordance with Cost Centre structure.

  • Prepare and post accruals and prepayments to ensure expenses are correctly allocated.

  • Prepare and calculate amortisation/depreciation and maintain fixed asset register.

  • Recognition of capital WIP for the Locker network

  • Calculate intercompany recharges, perform reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences with counterparties.

  • Foreign currency revaluation.

  • Calculate commissions for sales representatives and liaise with revenue operations and payroll.

  • Conduct variance analysis on revenue, costs and overheads, providing insightful commentary to management.

  • Prepare management accounts, including profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly.

  • Support the audit process, providing documentation and explanations as required.

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and internal accounting policies.

  • Ensure timely filing of VAT return and assist with other tax filing.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Work closely with FP&A and business teams to understand financial drivers.

  • Provide insights on revenue trends, cost efficiencies, and profitability.

  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes.

  • Support ad hoc financial projects and analysis.

Your profile:

  • Qualified accountant (CPA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).  The ideal candidate will have experience working in an accounting role within industry.

  • Experience in revenue recognition for SaaS businesses (ASC 606 / IFRS 15 preferred).

  • Strong IT skills, SAP experience would be helpful, Microsoft Office with a particularly strong ability in Excel.

  • Microsoft Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics is essential

  • Experience in Hyperion Reporting is a plus.

  • Attention to detail, strong analytical, problem solving and reconciliation skills.

  • Proven focus on continuous improvements.

  • Deadline driven and results focused.

  • Work effectively with team members - internal and external to department and within the Quadient Group organisation.

  • Possess the energy, enthusiasm & flexibility to successfully work with other team members in analysing, understanding, and working to improve the systems that underpin financial reporting.

  • Good understanding of accounting guidelines.

  • Proven track record of working on your own initiative.
