The Repairs Operations FA Logistics Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring efficient movement of failed hardware to and from global Failure Analysis labs—reducing downtime, strengthening operational visibility, and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional customer experience.
How You Will Contribute:
- Coordinate global logistics activities for failed hardware units, tracking to designated Failure Analysis (FA) laboratories globally.
- Liaise with internal teams (Repair Operations, Engineering, Quality) and external partners to ensure seamless and compliant movement of materials.
- Liaise with Ciena Quality organization on priorities, issues and escalations
- Maintain precise tracker and inventory records for units in the FA process.
- Define and own key metrics and identify process improvements and own implementation
- Oversee the return of analyzed or repaired units to stock locations or customers.
- Provide proactive communication to stakeholders on shipment status, risks, or delays.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen FA logistics and repair operations processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and international shipping guidelines.
The Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, repairs coordination, or operations within manufacturing or high‑tech environments.
- Experience supporting international, multisite logistics operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management processes and systems such as Oracle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related tools for reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in failures analysis logistics or repairs operations.
- Knowledge of global trade compliance practices.
- Familiarity with carrier management and customs brokerage processes.
- Background working within high‑mix/low‑volume hardware environments.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to troubleshoot logistics challenges proactively.
- Understanding of electronics repair or hardware lifecycle processes.
