Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret digital pathology slides for NHS cases (Placenta specimens).
- Provide detailed, accurate, and timely diagnostic reports that comply with NHS guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, pathologists, and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive case management and patient care.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in diagnosis, ensuring that all reports are delivered within the specified timeframes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in digital pathology and NHS reporting protocols to ensure best practices are followed.
- Support the digital pathology workflow by engaging in ongoing training and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions as needed, offering expert opinions and insights on complex cases.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Pathology.
- Active GMC Specialist Register license.
- Subscribed to a UK Placenta EQA scheme
- Hold personal medical indemnity for private work in the UK.
- Full certification and registration as a Pathologist with the relevant medical boards or councils.
- Proven experience in diagnostic pathology, particularly in the NHS environment, with a strong understanding of NHS reporting standards.
- Familiarity with digital pathology platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while maintaining a high standard of clinical care.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working remotely.
