Job Description

Responsible for leading and managing the Quality function. This role is crucial in ensuring the company and its products meet the highest standards of quality, food safety, and compliance along with driving continuous improvement.

Essential Position Functions
Leading by example to ensure the team upholds all health, safety, and food safety requirements at all times. 
Overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's quality management system. 
Ensuring compliance with BRC and other relevant certifications, as well as meeting customer quality expectations. 
Establishing and maintaining robust quality control measures across the entire manufacturing process. 
Managing and developing the Quality team to keep their skills and knowledge up-to-date. 
Analysing quality data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions. 
Collaborating cross-functionally to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement. 
Supporting the new product development process to ensure compliance. 
Ensuring quality standards and procedures align with food safety regulations and industry best practices. 
Representing the quality function in management meetings and liaising with stakeholders. 
Developing and managing the quality assurance budget. 
Fostering a strong quality-focused culture throughout the business.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Degree in a relevant field, such as Food Science, Quality Management, or a related discipline would be an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry. 
• Proven track record of successfully managing BRCGS audits and maintaining food safety certifications. 
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of quality professionals. 
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and industry best practices. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive continuous improvement. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels, working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in SAP as well as Microsoft Office Suite would be an advantage.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
