WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

The QC Inspector position at Fluidra will be responsible (under limited supervision) of maintaining quality standards by reviewing incoming/in process materials and/or in-process production components, recording any quality results and maintaining quality records per company policy. This person will also support the First Article process from start to finish including dimensioning and documentation including submitting first article documentation to Engineering for approval. This person will interact with the Materials Dept. (Receiving, Production Planning/Scheduling and Inventory Control) personnel to assure accurate and efficient processing of incoming material from receiving; acceptance and disposition into the appropriate location (perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures) as well as with Engineering for First Article clarification and completion. Additionally, you will: 

 

  • Performs visual and dimensional measurements (first articles) of complex purchased and internal components using microscope, caliper, micrometer, pins gauge, gauge block, height gage, and drop indicator amongst other measurement equipments.
  • Manage, conduct and interpret the results of component qualification (e.g., first article inspection) activities.
  • Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on established procedures and materials inspections.
  • Interpret and apply common attributes-based (e.g., ANSI Z1.4) and variables-based (e.g., ANSI Z1.9) sampling plans to acceptance activities.
  • Manage non-conforming product (i.e., MRB)
  • Interpret and understand mechanical drawings, assembly drawings and BoM for receiving inspection processes.
  • Utilize the ERP/MRP system as necessary to determine/record key information as well as disposition received products.
  • Perform inspections of purchased parts (visual/mechanical), internal components, subassemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements/tests.
  • Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
  • Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOP’s for the Receiving Inspection function.
  • Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol, and checklists.
  • Independently determine appropriate inspection setups using the equipment available

 

WHAT WE SEEK

  • 2+ years of quality control inspection experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to perform at this level.
  • Must have understanding of Quality sampling plans.
  • Able to interpret supplier supplied data.
  • The ability to interpret engineering specifications/drawings to perform First Articles. 
  • Interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills sufficient to train others in the use of inspection equipment and procedures, accurately completes paperwork, understands documentation and effectively communicates with fellow employees.
  • Extreme attention-to-detail, especially in the documentation of first articles to distinguish all details and requirements of a first article (tolerances, parts set ups, etc).
  • General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Proficiency with measurement instruments (e.g., microscope, optical comparator, CMM, caliper, micrometer, pins gauge, gauge block, height gage, drop indicator).
  • Good arithmetic skills are required.
  • Must have good English written and verbal communication skills.
