Job Description

AtkinsRéalis Project Delivery Practice (PDP) combines the best in project management and design management to provide a full suite of services to clients in the public and private sectors. We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident Project Manager to join our North, Scotland, and Northern Ireland practice, based from the Belfast office, who wants to take the next step in their career and take responsibility for projects from inception to completion. You may be an Assistant Project Manager or already have experience of delivering some projects from inception to completion. Whilst some working from our client offices or other AtkinsRéalis offices may be required, our advanced agile working practices will enable you to work from home and different locations with ease.

Our need to recruit comes from the success of our division and our pipeline and expected growth within the northern regions across a variety of sectors, predominantly in Nuclear, Defence, Water and Local Authority to which this role is focused. In addition, we have strong growth across our wider Rail and Aviation sectors.

You are likely to have several years of multi-disciplinary project delivery experience, ideally within a consultancy environment and with some experience of working in the water industry. Working with the support of the PDP team, you will be responsible for delivering schemes to budget and programme through RIBA Stages 0-7 or the sector equivalent and be the main point of contact with our clients on these projects.

Requirements:

  • Ideally with a Project Management/Engineering/Building Surveying/Architectural background, with design management, project management and contract administration experience (JCT/NEC and/or bespoke forms of contract).
  • Some experience of projects or assisting the management of projects from inception to completion (RIBA Stages 0 – 7 or equivalent).
  • Experience of working close to multi-disciplinary design teams. Strong client facing and customer service skills. Ability to lead a delivery team in a positive and confident manner. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sound business acumen and strong risk/commercial awareness to deliver profits. Experience of managing the constructor procurement process.
  • Proven project management skills with a sound knowledge of construction.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office suite and MS Project.
  • An aptitude towards work winning through strong service delivery. Understanding of BIM.
  • The ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative. To demonstrate a proactive and flexible working attitude. Current driving licence.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of project management and contract administration through the project life cycle. Ensuring that there is a common understanding of brief/programme/costs/constraints/risk across the team.
  • Leading the project team – building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team.
  • Communicating, liaising, and managing the client on a project-by-project basis.Deliver projects within with corporate and business policies, directives, guidance, and procedures.
  • Manage the project within client and AtkinsRéalis budgets. Risk management of the project from inception through to completion.
  • Administer and negotiate change control from inception through to completion.
  • Manage the procurement and analysis process.
  • Monitoring and report performance against programme, technical quality, financial and KPI targets. Mentoring and developing of assistant project managers and other team members as required.
