Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of Pharmacy Enterprise projects of mid-low risk affecting multiple stakeholders within a limited number of areas/departments. This includes, but is not limited to, project work plan development & management, project plan reporting, issue tracking, scope development & management, project cost, resource & time management, project communications and project risk management. Collaborates with IT, vendors, and Customers to ensure successful completion of projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Architecture, Communications, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Two (2) years project management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Certification in LEAN
EXPERIENCE:
1. Certified Associate in Project Management Certification preferred.
2. Experience in Construction Management.
3. Experience in pharmacy or healthcare industry

1. Assists Pharmacy leadership team in achieving operational and financial objectives, supporting quality of service initiatives, adapting to economic, technological, and regulatory changes, and responding effectively to patient, physician, employee, and organizational needs.
2. Responsible in all aspects of project planning, including project proposal reviews to determine goals, time frame, funding, project approach, staffing requirements, deliverables, and allocation of resources.
3. Ensures that all project activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
4. Collaborates with the Pharmacy leadership team to integrate service functions with WVU Medicine.
5. Develops and maintains project scope/charter with assistance from management. Develops and maintains project schedule and communicates out all updates or changes pertaining to established timelines
6. Responsible for all processes related to the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information including, but not limited to, clear and concise estimates in regard to accurate work scope descriptions and accurate estimates of cost. Recommendations for alternate opportunities should also be considered.
7. Proactively manages project to identify potential risks and/or issues and escalates appropriately. Implements and monitors the change control process and documents and facilitates the outcomes of the change control process for assigned projects.
8. Understands Customers and their needs. Provides realistic expectations, actively monitors customer satisfaction. Responds promptly and provides frequent updates and clearly communicates to all levels (team, management, stakeholders, etc.) the status of the project to include any potential challenges.
10. Participates in pre-engagement preparation and implementation planning, and transition to support. Motivates project team to action. Identifies common themes, makes inferences, and draw conclusions.
11. Ensures acceptable level(s) of project staffing and oversight of consultants, contractors, and vendors to meet the requirements of the agreed upon contract/RFP stipulations for assigned projects.
12. Manages vendor Project Manager and coordinates with vendor PM to manage vendor resources. Manages vendor invoicing related to assigned projects.
13. Directly manages all internal resources assigned to project or initiative for work assignment completion, and manages external resources in the absence of a vendor project manager. Schedules activities, events, and programs, as well as the work of project team members, in support of pharmacy leadership needs and expectations.
14. Collaborates with facility project manager regarding renovation & improvement projects
15. Exerts strong influencing skills to impact choices on immediate and long-term decisions. Continual adjustments with stakeholders in a persuasive and positive manner, to keep project on course using win-win negotiation techniques.
16. Utilizes working knowledge of organization’s current versions of desktop software to perform project planning and oversight, for example: Windows, MS Project, MS Office, MS SharePoint.
17. Maintains catalog of all projects and improvement initiatives to include contacts and overall project/process feedback
18. Participates in planning and implementing change and maintaining and improving productivity through attendance and participation in departmental functions and staff meetings.
19. Supports the development and installation of procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the Hospital.
20. Provides training and consultative support to others regarding process improvement initiatives.
21. Assists in meeting regulatory guidelines, licensure requirements, and in achieving quality improvement objectives.
22. Establishes and maintains cooperative and positive working relationships with customers and project staff.
23. Participates on committees, special projects and other duties as assigned.
24. Uses LEAN principles to assist in creating workflow efficiencies. Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies and problem solving and works with the management team to complete root cause analysis.
25. This position may require travel to other facilities or affiliated sites to assist with implementations, training, and/or support.
26. Adheres to the established policies of the West Virginia United Health System (WVUHS) as well as the policies of the entity or entities where the team member is assigned to work and/or employed.
