As a key member of the Engineering Continental Europe organization, the Project Manager is responsible for organization, coordination, and implementation of complex Capital Projects ranging from manufacturing/utility equipment upgrade to facility expansion, according to user specifications and McCain quali-ty/safety standards.
Within the Appetizer organization, the Project Manager is playing a key role in leading all phases of medium/large capital projects: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling and Closing.
Depending on the project's context and business criticality, the Project Manager may be involved in evaluation and analysis activities prior to project initiation. These activities may include consulting with executive and business unit leaders on ideas for advancing strategic objectives, improving organizational performance, or meeting customer needs.
In some organizational settings, the Project Manager may also be called upon to manage or assist in business analysis, business case development, for a project.
The Project Manager may also be involved in follow-on activities related to realizing business benefits from the project.
What you'll be doing.
  • The Project Manager should possess project management knowledge, technical knowledge, understanding, and experience.
  • The Project Manager provides the project team with leadership, planning, and coordination through communications.
  • The Project Manager provides written communications (e.g., documented plans and schedules) and communicates in real time with the team using meetings and verbal or nonverbal cues.
  • The Project Manager leads the project core team to meet the project's objectives and stakeholders' expectations. The Project Manager works to balance the competing constraints on the project with the resources available.
  • The Project Manager also performs communication roles between the project sponsor (if appointed), senior project manager (if appointed), team members and other stakeholders. This includes providing direction and presenting/supporting the vision of success for the project.
  • The Project Manager uses soft skills (e.g., interpersonal skills and the ability to manage people) to balance the conflicting and competing goals of the project stakeholders in order to achieve consensus. In this context, consensus means that the relevant stakeholders support the project decisions and actions even when there is not 100% agreement.
  • In addition, the Project Manager maintains a strong advocacy role within the organization, proactively interacting with directors and/or local managers within the organization during the course of the project.
  • The Project Manager also works with the project sponsor (if appointed) to address internal political and strategic issues that may impact the team or the viability or quality of the project.

What you'll need to be successful.
  • HBO / master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process...), Construction Management or related field.
  • 5-10+ years experience in related working environment, on a similar position
  • Outstanding track record in working with large and complex capital investment programs,
  • Strong knowledge in working with project management systems, tools and techniques,
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Windows, MS-office and MS-Project / SAP PS(or other similar software)
  • Proficiency in English (CECRL B2/C1 level)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.

You'll report to the Engineering Director Appetizers, and you'll manage 3 people as Engineering Project Managers.
