Main purpose of role & level in the business: 

As a Product Principal you will lead the product and business analysis function within projects and accounts. In this hands-on role, you will guide teams and clients on how best to understand and approach their problems, ensuring good Product practice is being followed and Product thinking is being encouraged and advocated. You will be responsible for defining product strategies and portfolio level roadmaps ensuring successful delivery of product outcomes by your teams. 

You will collaborate with stakeholders and your account leadership team to nurture and grow existing accounts and identify and develop new opportunities. 

Acting as a visible leader within the Product Capability, you will help to grow, nurture and develop new talent through mentoring and thought leadership. 

Minimum (essential) requirements:  

  • A desire to work on some of the most complex and ambitious programmes focused on keeping our country safe 

  • Experience working within Defence sector or similar  

  • Hold current DV clearance  

  • Comfortable with significant travel and on-site working (up to 4 days per week) 

  • Extensive hands-on experience of Product Management, Business Analysis and Consulting 

  • Proven track record of successfully taking large digital products and services from inception to retirement by building, leading, and nurturing high performing Product teams including defining product visions, strategies and roadmaps 

  • Experience in rapidly understanding client problems to propose effective, feasible solutions, responsible for ensuring delivery meets key financial measures on a project 

  • Experience coaching and mentoring your clients and teams in agile delivery, Product Leadership, and digital transformation best practices 

  • Strong stakeholder communication, management and relationship building at all levels from graduates to the C-suite 

  • Experience in benefits management and realisation across large programmes or portfolios 

  • Evidence of leading successful Digital Transformations and incorporating digital service design and development; business case development; operating model design and programme delivery 

  • A strong understanding of the Software Delivery Lifecycle and experience delivering software using a variety of methodologies: Waterfall, SCRUM, Kanban 

  • Solid understanding of technology and architecture concepts in green and brown field development domains,  

  • Experience working within tight project constraints, being hands on with our teams helping them visualise the bigger picture, manage scope and deliver outcomes successfully 

  • Demonstrable experience of devising, implementing, and influencing practices, offerings and culture across organisations and key accounts 

  • Experience leading engagements at an account / programme level for a consultancy or professional services company 

  • Excellent commercial awareness and a proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities demonstrable experience in pre-sales activities 

Desirable: 

  • Strong knowledge of User Experience, Agile and Programme Assurance disciplines 

  • Experience of delivering a variety of digital products from mobile apps to no code/low code solutions 

  • Experience building digital services which involve migrating, modernising or integrating with legacy systems 

  • Active participant in communities of interest (e.g. online groups, speaking at conferences etc.)
