Acumen is seeking a Product Marketing Manager based in either London, Lagos or Nairobi to join our curriculum and content team on a 8-month contract to oversee the strategy, development, and implementation of the promotion of our new learning product. This role requires a deep understanding of digital platforms and audience insights to refine outreach across ‘always on’ channels and an ability to proactively research, approach, and activate relevant channel partners. With a focus on innovative storytelling and cross-channel alignment, this role will be responsible for meeting the evolving needs of our diverse global audience to drive engagement. This position will collaborate closely with Acumen’s audience engagement, tech and program teams.

About Acumen Academy’s Resources Product
Acumen Academy is the world’s school for social change. Acumen Academy offers a range of curriculum and content from a year-long immersive Fellowship program to short courses and bite-size Learning Resources, all designed to provide democratic access to the knowledge, skills, tools, and frameworks to achieve positive social change. 

Acumen Academy is in the process of innovating our online content offer through the development of a new product; Learning Resources. The product will deliver a mobile-optimized learning experience designed for busy social entrepreneurs with limited learning time. 

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement new product release marketing strategy : 

  • Work with leadership to prioritize and position Acumen Academy products to be elevated with strategic and comprehensive cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of marketing campaigns using Hubspot and GA4 analytics and adjust strategies as needed
  • Engage community members to participate in research to shape product development and campaign messaging 
  • Conduct competitive landscape analysis (how does what we’re building compare to other internal/external resources aiming to do a similar thing?)
  • Develop and implement the release strategy for new learning products including drafting messaging and executing marketing tactics 
  • Lead communications and engagement among regional team members to help them to become product champions and a channel to market
  • Develop and maintain user personas
  • Manage project timelines and collaborate with teams (UX, Story Studio etc) 
  • Work closely with dev teams on any optimizations and new features for the website 
  • Provide testing plans for new learning resource products and summarize findings 
  • Identify, approach and activate potential channel partners 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Strong writing skills 
  • Experience of identifying and activating channel partners 
  • Expert on Hubspot for email for contact list management, website/blog
  • CMS managements (Contentful, Hubspot)
  • Ability to get up to speed on new platforms 
  • Ability to navigate data in Salesforce and also set up and/or manage new marketing-focused analytics systems as required (Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Hotjar, and similar)
  • Experienced with platforms used to plan, and execute (such as Airtable, Form Assembly, Zoom, WebinarJam, Padlet, and similar)
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, including keyword research and content strategy (and use of AI platforms for expediting content planning and/or repurposing)
  • Preferred: Based in London, Lagos or Nairobi 
  • Authorized to work in the UK, Nigeria or Kenya 
  • Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen’s Values
