Department Overview

Job Description

This role is primarily remote with occasional travel to our UK offices.

You'll be part of an empowered product team operating with a start-up mindset inside a large enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Product Management for Cloud Video Security, you'll own the most compelling and fastest growing product area within our video platform, working directly with engineering, design, and customers to solve real security problems. This role is hands-on: you'll run discovery, define outcomes, ship product, and measure results.

What You'll Do
  • Own a Product Area: Take full ownership of the VMS product within our video platform. Define outcomes, run discovery, and drive the roadmap for your area in close partnership with your engineering team.

  • Run Continuous Discovery: Talk to customers regularly. Conduct interviews, observe workflows, analyze usage data, and synthesize what you learn into clear problem statements and opportunity assessments.

  • Ship Product That Matters: Work with engineering and design to move from problem to solution to delivery. Write clear product specs, make scope trade-offs, and ensure what ships actually solves the problem you set out to solve.

  • Measure Impact: Define success metrics for your area and instrument your product to track them. Use data to inform decisions, validate hypotheses, and demonstrate business impact.

  • Contribute to AI-Native Strategy: Help define how AI and analytics capabilities get integrated into the video platform to move us from basic video management toward intelligent security workflows.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with Sales, Support, Marketing, and other products teams within Motorola Solutions to ensure successful launches and tight feedback loops from the field back to the product team.

Understand the Market: Stay sharp on competitors, industry trends, and the evolving needs of security professionals. Use competitive intelligence to inform positioning and product decisions.

Basic Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • Product management experience in SaaS, cloud platforms, or enterprise software

  • Experience with video surveillance or video analytics strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to run customer discovery and translate findings into product decisions

  • Comfortable working directly with engineering teams, including the ability to engage in technical discussions about architecture and trade-offs

  • Experience defining and tracking product metrics, and using data to drive prioritization

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate product strategy and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • A bias toward action and learning over perfection, with experience shipping product iteratively

What Sets You Apart
  • AI Fascination and Vibe Coding Experience: Gone are the days when only the engineers could code. We expect you to be able to stand up AI generated prototypes rapidly and iterate on them.

  • AI/ML Product Experience: You've integrated AI or analytics capabilities into a product, whether for intelligent video, predictive insights, automation, or similar. Bonus if you can point to measurable reduction in manual effort through AI.

  • Security Industry Knowledge: You understand the physical security ecosystem, including installers, integrators, and end-user workflows across verticals like retail, education, or healthcare.

  • Cloud + On-Prem Hybrid: Experience with products that bridge cloud and on-premise deployments, or with migration strategies from legacy to cloud architectures.

  • Multi-Sided Ecosystem Thinking: You've worked with products that serve multiple stakeholder types (partners, installers, integrators, end-users) and understand the trade-offs involved.

  • Technical Depth: A technical background (CS, engineering, or similar) that lets you go deep with engineering on system design, APIs, and platform architecture.

Why Motorola Solutions?

Join a team that's transforming physical security through innovative technology. You'll work on products that protect people and spaces, with real autonomy to drive outcomes and grow your career at a global technology leader committed to making communities safer.

In return for your expertise, we’ll support you in this new challenge with coaching & development every step of the way. Also, to reward your hard work you’ll get:

  • Competitive salary and bonus schemes

  • Two weeks additional pay per year (holiday bonus).

  • 25 days holiday entitlement + bank holidays.

  • Attractive defined contribution pension scheme.

  • Private medical insurance.

  • Employee stock purchase plan.

  • Flexible working options.

  • Life assurance.

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.

  • Career development support and wide ranging learning opportunities.

  • Employee health and wellbeing support EAP, wellbeing guidance etc.

  • Carbon neutral initiatives/goals.

  • Corporate social responsibility initiatives including support for volunteering days.

  • Well known companies discount scheme.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
