Amex GBT is a place where colleagues find inspiration in travel as a force for good and – through their work – can make an impact on our industry. We’re here to help our colleagues achieve success and offer an inclusive and collaborative culture where your voice is valued.

Ready to explore a career path? Start your journey.

As a Product Management Intern at AmexGBT Egencia, you will not only support the daily tasks of an experienced Product Manager but also take ownership of a high-impact project from start to finish. This project focuses on the checkout process for our rail business line—an essential stage of the e-commerce funnel that directly affects conversion rates, revenue, and customer satisfaction. Because the checkout flow is being revamped across all lines of business (car, ground, air, hotel, and rail), your role will be integral to optimizing our error management and order confirmation processes to deliver an exceptional user experience.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

  • Observe & Learn: Gain insights into the day-to-day responsibilities of a Product Manager, from stakeholder collaboration to backlog refinement.

  • Analyze the booking requirements for different rail suppliers, with special attention to error scenarios and resolution strategies.

  • Research industry best practices and our internal approaches to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Propose Solutions by consolidating your research findings and merging them with existing use cases, collaborating with various stakeholders.

  • Develop a Conceptual Roadmap that details a comprehensive solution broken down into user stories. Actual implementation will depend on resource availability and organizational priorities.

Live the Feature Lifecycle
You’ll gain hands-on exposure to each phase of developing new features in a B2B context—without directly working in the production environment:

  • Problem Statement : Identify and document problem areas, supported by observations and data.

  • Hypothesis : Highlight potential benefits of resolving these problems.

  • Ideation : Brainstorm solutions with cross-functional teams (PMs, Engineers, UX Designers, Marketers, etc.).

  • Benefits & Impacts : Forecast expected gains and consequences of each proposed solution.

  • Dependencies/Risks/Unknowns : Pinpoint factors that could influence feasibility and success.

  • Success Definition : Determine KPIs and criteria that define success.

  • Go-to-Market Strategy : Collaborate on a conceptual launch plan for the proposed feature.

Exposure to PM Responsibilities

  • Observe daily stand-ups, backlog management sessions, and prioritization discussions to understand core agile practices.

  • Learn About escalation paths and how to handle cross-team dependencies.

  • Present findings and recommendations to the broader Product & Technology organization, gaining valuable feedback and visibility.

What We’re Looking For

  • Curious & Action-Oriented : Eager to learn and contribute ideas.

  • Strong Communicator : Capable of tailoring your message to different stakeholders.

  • Analytical : Inclined toward data-driven decision-making.

  • Team Player : Collaborative, assuming positive intent in others.

  • Agile-Minded : Familiar with best practices in agile methodologies or keen to learn.

  • Adaptable : Comfortable navigating complexity in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

If you’re passionate about e-commerce, excited to learn the ropes of product management, and eager to contribute to the future of our checkout and fulfillment processes, we’d love to hear from you!

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
