Job Description:

Microchip Belfast is a forward-thinking semiconductor company driving innovation in GaN MMIC technologies, with a reputation for developing high-performance RF Power Amplifiers for Communications, Radar, Satellite, and Instrumentation markets.

We’re seeking a Product Engineer to join our talented team focused on next-generation RF MMIC development. This role offers access to cutting-edge tools, technical autonomy, and the opportunity to influence mission-critical products for defence, satellite, and telecoms applications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to transition RF Power Amplifier products from concept to full-scale production

  • Take ownership for processing measurement data and produce reports and product datasheets.

  • Apply statistical data analysis to assess product performance and quality standards.

  • Document specifications and design iterations using CAD and engineering documentation tools.

  • Support RF measurement activities including small signal S-parameter and RF power measurements.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for product reliability and manufacturability.

  • Provide technical feedback and support across internal and external stakeholder groups.

Requirements/Qualifications:

A successful candidate is likely to possess some or all the following balance of skills;

  • HND or higher (Bachelors or Masters Degree) in electrical/electronic engineering or related science discipline would be advantageous

  • Knowledge of RF

  • Knowledge of automated test systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentations.

  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams

  • Willingness to travel internationally for short-term assignments with global contractors.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor lifetime testing methods is desirable but not essential.
