Do you thrive on turning customer needs and market insights into innovative learning solutions that deliver measurable commercial impact? Are you passionate about shaping product strategy, bringing new ideas to market, and helping organisations develop the skills their people need for the future?

At CFA Institute, we are building our Institutional Solutions business to help investment firms address the evolving learning, upskilling, and talent assessment needs of their workforces.

We are looking for a Director, Product Management – Institutional Solutions to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our growing portfolio of B2B learning and assessment products. This is an opportunity to build new products and capabilities, establish scalable product development practices, and help define how CFA Institute serves institutional clients across the global investment industry.

Reporting to the General Manager, Institutional Solutions, you will be a core member of our Institutional Solutions product team, working closely with technology, learning design, curriculum, and commercial colleagues to translate market opportunities into compelling products and solutions.

You will own the product roadmap from strategy through launch and ongoing development, combining customer insight, commercial thinking, and disciplined execution to deliver products that create value for institutional clients and support the growth of the business.

What You'll Do
  • Shape and execute the Institutional Solutions product strategy, partnering with the General Manager to identify new product opportunities, develop compelling propositions, and support revenue growth.
  • Own the product roadmap and lifecycle across assigned B2B learning and assessment products, from initial concept and business case through development, launch, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Institutional Solutions sales teams to understand client needs, identify market opportunities, and develop products that address the learning, upskilling, and talent assessment priorities of investment firms.
  • Build and establish product development processes, including stage-gate governance, product evaluation, prioritisation, and decision-making frameworks to support scalable growth.
  • Partner with learning designers, curriculum leaders, investment subject matter experts, and external specialists to develop high-quality learning and assessment products that meet the needs of institutional audiences.
  • Collaborate with technology product teams, developers, and designers to define requirements and ensure the capabilities needed to build, sell, and deliver B2B products are in place.
  • Analyse market intelligence, customer insights, and corporate purchasing behaviours to inform product positioning, development priorities, and investment decisions.
  • Identify dependencies across product portfolios, technology platforms, and business functions, ensuring products deliver a coherent and effective client experience.
  • Develop product business cases, support budget planning, and make informed recommendations on product investment and resource allocation.
  • Define and monitor product performance measures, including commercial outcomes, customer adoption, usage, and other relevant KPIs, using insights to inform product improvements and future development.
  • Champion the value of Institutional Solutions products across CFA Institute, building stakeholder alignment and supporting successful product launches.
  • Provide product leadership across cross-functional teams and external partners, helping establish collaborative, accountable, and effective ways of working.
What We're Looking For
  • Demonstrable experience developing, launching, and managing products through the full product lifecycle, including product strategy, roadmap ownership, and delivery.
  • Experience in B2B product management, ideally within education technology, professional learning, enterprise training, assessment, or credentialing environments.
  • An understanding of how organisations evaluate, purchase, and implement learning or professional development solutions.
  • Experience translating customer needs, market insights, and commercial opportunities into compelling product strategies and successful product launches.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to develop business cases, assess market opportunities, and connect product decisions to business performance.
  • Experience establishing or improving product development processes, governance frameworks, and cross-functional delivery practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, technology, learning design, content development, and other business stakeholders to deliver integrated product solutions.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and technical specialists to translate complex content or requirements into accessible, market-relevant products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using product performance data and customer insights to inform decisions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional product teams, specialists, or external consultants, including influencing outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Experience developing or launching products for international or multinational audiences is welcomed.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to present product strategies and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • A strategic, adaptable, and collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge established thinking, navigate ambiguity, and drive new ideas from concept through implementation.
  • A degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers.
