Scope:

Ensure Project Management from project Full Funding stage to hand-over and close-out, targeting an outcome that meets all the defined project objectives for cost, schedule, quality, safety and environment and delivers the business benefits operating according to Engineering Project management standard, Global Engineering Standards and portfolio rules. While ensuring the final output, navigates project management rules with ability to apply new methodologies, proper digitalization application, problem solving attitude, risks identification and mitigation.

In this role you will:

  • Ensures assigned projects execution according to GSK rules and guidelines as reported in Project management Framework (PMF); Sets clearly project scope, planning and costs; defining project baselines (WBS/ Time and costs baselines) .

  • Sets Project KPIs and monitors project adherence; applies projects change management criteria highlighting, according to PMF, specific impact on project controls (costs/ schedule/ EHS/ Quality); Applies and drives projects review (EHS/ GMP/ After Action Review); ensures handover is executed in a timely and complete process to the Customer (Gate 4 according to PMF).

  • Identifies and proactively manages project risks according to PMF. Implements robust risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines, costs, and overall delivery. Spreads risk management culture across working teams to ensure continuous and structured risks pop up and evaluation.

  • Take ownership of the project budget, ensuring control of project spending and LO during project execution; identify budgetary variances, and develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential cost overruns.

  • Sets the project core team and defines project resources estimates; sets and manages project governance meetings, project repository and project documentation (meeting minutes/ actions trackers/ projects registers/ projects dashboards and updates).

  • Sets and monitors the project communication and stakeholders management plans, including vendors and consultants assigned to the project at various project phases; builds the decision making flow and sets project escalation path; works across boundaries and in a matrix environment at different level of the organization.

  • When defined per governance model, coordinates Steercos preparation, presents if requested, ensures Steerco’s decision/ requests/ needs are cascaded to the core team and considered accordingly.

  • Supports GMP, HA or any other inspection either during the preparation phase and as fronter; Ensures project is executed and delivered according to EH&S standards in line with PMF – Construction Handbook PMF Tool 17A.

  • Ensure the provisions of the employer regarding Health, Safety and Environment regulations in their area of competence, in accordance with D.Lgs. 81/2008, 152/2006 and EHS&S Corporate Standards; in particular Template Job Description ensuring proper use of personal protection equipment and applying the proper escalation process in case of any unforeseen risk, for the appropriate actions to be taken.

  • Engineering, biopharma, scientific degree, or equivalent experience;

  • Proven and solid experience in project management and engineering roles, preferably in GMP regulated environment;

  • Fluent level of Italian and English (both written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile certifications, or other relevant certifications can be beneficial;

  • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, to interpret data and make informed decisions based on metrics;

  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, with experience in multiple stakeholder engagement and management in a matrix organization;

  • Strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and influence decisions.
