We are recruiting for a Process Control Leader for our cables factory.
Working Monday to Friday, days.
Key activities and responsibilities.
The Process control leaders will have the ownership of the performance of their own Stream of machines, and will be the glue between machine performance, people performance and product quality (connecting HSE, production, maintenance, quality and planning departments) pulling the various teams together.
Their responsibility will be:
Safety
Responsible for health and safety within allocated process stream
Responsible for 6S, including audits within allocated process stream.
Conduct initial accident investigations, as required.
Conduct safe / unsafe behaviour discussions with employees.
Area Daily / Weekly Control
Machines daily performance and detailed KPI's analysis (Data analysis)
ensure right tools for the job are present on the machines
Daily control (of KPIs) to minimise process deviations.
Review process performance through a daily summary and escalation meeting with the Production Manager
Work with Operators and the Pillars to improve data quality, review and update standards, eradicate forbidden losses and ensure effective communication and implementation.
Data cleansing (maintenance of POMS stop codes - OEE)
Actions on deviations to ensure product flow and area improvement projects
Lead daily performance meetings with Production Control to determine and agree the production plan, ensuring that all resources are in place to achieve this requirement.
SEAs and First level investigation on production issues and allocation to correct department ( such as process engineering, maintenance)
Loss Reduction Projects
Working with Operators and Pillar support to drive continuous improvement projects.
Manage Loss Reduction Actions or projects to eradicate losses and improve KPI performance.
Facilitate weekly project meetings and ensure daily that agreed actions are being completed
Quarterly KPI Loss Analysis / Phased Plans
Review quarterly performance data and KPI loss analysis, confirm loss reduction plan for following quarter and KPI targets.
First level of investigation in case of failures
Act as leaders for machine performance
Employee Engagement
Support effective communication with employees.
Ensure communication and training following SOPs generated by Process engineering department.
Motivate and develop the team and identify training needs to ensure that availability of skills is not a constraint and is kept in line with market demand
Connection shopfloor - planning - maintenance to ensure smooth coordination of Plant activities
THE PERSON
Candidates will ideally be educated to HNC or degree level in a Technical discipline with significant cable making experience within a multi-process environment, which will include previous experience of Manufacturing / Operational Management, involving process engineering and / or supervision of operators.
Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, the job holder will possess the proven ability to lead, motivate, co-ordinate and direct; Shift Coordinators, Team Leaders and Production Operators to achieve departmental targets and objectives.
