ABOUT THIS ROLE

Apex Fintech Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Privacy Manager to join our Legal and Compliance Department, reporting to and supporting the Chief Privacy Officer. The role will play a key role in developing, managing and enhancing Apex’s privacy program and ultimately strengthening Apex’s compliance with data protection and privacy laws.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and update privacy notices, policies and procedures in compliance with global data protection laws (GLBA, CCPA, GDPR, LGPD and more)
  • Manage data inventory and records of processing activity processes and updates
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments to identify and mitigate privacy risks
  • Provide guidance and support to various departments on privacy-related matters, including to information security, operations, marketing, sales and technology
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, third party risk management and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with privacy laws as it relates to Apex’s onboarding of third-party service providers
  • Lead privacy training and awareness initiatives as needed to supplement mandatory privacy and security training programs

Education and/or Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in a privacy compliance role
  • Experience within the financial services sector is preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully managing privacy programs or core elements of privacy programs
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and foundational understanding of US privacy laws
  • CIPP (or equivalent certifications) are preferred

Required Skills:

  • Ability to adapt to changing business environments and situations while offering pragmatic privacy guidance to stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate privacy compliance issues clearly;
  • Ability to work as part of cross-functional teams and effectively solve problems;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively handle privacy compliance issues
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
  • Passion for data privacy, data protection and digital rights preferred!
