We are now building and scaling our engineering teams in London and we are looking for our first Staff Engineer based in London. This is an exciting opportunity shape the future of our R&D teams in the London office!

You will work across our Data group, which is building a groundbreaking new Data Platform—mondayDB 3.0. This next-generation system is designed to scale our product’s capacity by orders of magnitude.

Please note this is a hybrid position of 3 days/week in our London office (Fitzrovia).



About The Role

You will work with experienced and highly talented engineers — who love what they do — with cutting-edge technologies in a data and impact-driven environment. We promote transparency, full ownership, teamwork, and a no-ego policy.

Our engineering department comprises different groups, each responsible for a crucial domain in the monday.com product. With over 300 engineers, we operate as part of cross-functional teams, defining, improving, building, and delivering features collaboratively. 

What you will do:

  • Set engineering vision, technical direction, architectural approach, and execution.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and partners in multiple areas of the monday organization.
  • Contribute to product and project strategy, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering.
  • Our Stack - React.JS, Redux, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, AWS, Elastic Search, Redis, MySQL

Note: Prior experience with our tech stack is not required; we welcome people willing to learn.



Requirements

  • 15/20+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of designing and building complex systems.
  • 5 years of experience with design, architecture; and testing/launching software products.
  • 10 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, and/or experience with cloud technologies
  • Broad experience in a technical leadership role, including setting technical direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, adept at working cross-functionally and driving alignment.
