Kigen enable businesses to grow their Internet of Things rapidly through the SIM, eSIM and iSIM technologies and are pushing the boundaries in the industry. Working with a number of high-profile customers globally, our growing business is excited to be expanding our team in Belfast.
Help keep the world's SIMs and eSIMs running — securely, reliably, and at scale. At Kigen, our platforms and infrastructure underpin SIM and eSIM services used across the globe. We're looking for a Platform / Infrastructure Engineer to own and maintain the systems — spanning our on-premises data centre estate and public cloud — that keep production stable, compliant, and always on.
What you'll be doing
- Administer and secure our on-premises data centre estate alongside public cloud environments (AWS, GCP or similar).
- Own OS patching, certificate lifecycle, and vulnerability remediation across the estate.
- Build and maintain configuration management and automation (Ansible or similar) for consistent, repeatable infrastructure changes.
- Support containerised workloads (Docker, Kubernetes or similar).
- Maintain logging, monitoring, and observability tooling (ELK stack or similar).
- Manage secure file transfer services (MFT/SFTP or similar) for partner and customer data exchange.
- Configure and troubleshoot load balancing (F5 or similar) and monitor the virtualised estate.
- Own developer environments and artifact repositories (Nexus or similar).
- Take part in an on-call rotation as a first responder for production incidents.
- Provide hands-on support at our Dublin data centre, with travel as required.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation and on-premises server infrastructure (VMware ESXi or similar).
- Strong, proven experience with Linux.
- Experience with configuration management / infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform or similar).
- Experience with logging and monitoring stacks (ELK or similar).
- Understanding of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes or similar).
- Good grasp of security concepts, including vulnerability management and certificate/PKI lifecycle.
- Experience with git and artifact repositories (Nexus or similar).
- Willingness to travel to our Dublin data centre as required.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working autonomously.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
Nice to have
- Experience administering public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure or similar) at scale.
- Scripting ability (Python, Bash or similar).
- Exposure to cloud cost optimisation / FinOps practices.
- Experience in a regulated or security-sensitive industry (telecoms, SIM/eSIM or similar).
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar change/incident management processes.
