Mō te tūranga | About the Role 
As a Platform Engineer for Westpac, you will help engineers be successful developing platforms. Your role will be to mentor other engineers, create high level solutions, and collaborate with teams to create a devops culture and enable effective platform delivery.

You will be required to work across the chapter, sharing knowledge and driving improvement across the craft of Platform Engineering.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? 

• At least 4+ years’ experience as a Platform Engineer, preferably in a large corporate environment

• Experience with Apache Ecosystem including HDFS and spark and hive, experience with terraform is essential

• Experience with Docker and containers orchestration (Kubernetes) with experience in automation tools like Ansible/Chef

• Familiarity with Linux systems and shell scripting

• Familiarity with CICD tools - Jenkins

• Experience in programming languages like Java, Python

• Dealing with production deployments, best practices, backup systems/verification

• Experience with Azure DevOps tooling like Azure container apps and Kubernetes services is preferable

• Experience with snowflake platform is desirable

• On call rostered production support and vulnerability patching

• Ability to validate functionality and performance of new development projects within the corresponding application system.

• Tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science or certification for relevant technical.
