Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Platform Administrator, for a Central Government project, to support and maintain critical infrastructure within a secure cloud-based environment. This role requires expertise in Linux system administration, scripting, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and database management. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining platforms, ensuring system reliability, and troubleshooting issues with minimal support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Linux Administration – Manage, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems, including shell scripting and string manipulation.
- Cloud Provisioning – Deploy and manage compute resources in AWS or Azure environments.
- Software Packaging & Installation – Package, unpackage, and install software, including database setups (MySQL/MariaDB).
- Backup Management – Understand backup processes and execute via shell scripts or command-line tools.
- Security & Authentication – Configure SSL, Java Keystores, LDAP, and SSO brokers (e.g., Keycloak).
- Platform Administration – Oversee the system’s health and performance, learning infrastructure processes to ensure operational stability.
- Troubleshooting & Autonomy – Diagnose and resolve platform issues independently, ensuring seamless operations.
- ServiceNow Application Development (Nice to Have) – Some experience with ServiceNow app development would be beneficial.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong Linux administration skills, including scripting and automation.
- Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments.
- Familiarity with database management (MySQL/MariaDB).
- Understanding of backup strategies and ability to integrate backup processes into scripts.
- Knowledge of security protocols (SSL, Java Keystores, LDAP, SSO).
- Proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously and troubleshoot effectively.
- ServiceNow platform experience (desirable but not essential).
