About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll across multiple countries. This role is critical to ensuring compliance with international tax and labour regulations, maintaining operational efficiency, and supporting a world-class employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Operations: Manage and process payroll for multiple international entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Vendor Management: Partner with third-party payroll providers, ensuring service-level agreements and compliance standards are met.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll operations comply with local tax regulations, labour laws, and data protection requirements in each jurisdiction.
  • Process Optimisation: Develop and implement standardised payroll procedures, policies, and systems to increase efficiency.
  • Audit & Reporting: Prepare payroll-related reports for internal stakeholders and support audits by providing required documentation and responses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and external partners to ensure alignment on compensation, benefits, and statutory compliance.
  • Technology: Lead and support the implementation and integration of new payroll systems and software with HRIS software.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop payroll staff or oversee local payroll coordinators, ensuring high performance and continuous development.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in payroll, with at least 3 years managing international or multi-country payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of international payroll practices, labour laws, and statutory requirements in key regions (e.g., EMEA, APAC, Americas).
  • Experience with global payroll platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or relevant qualifications.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in a high-growth or multinational tech/startup/scaleup environment.
  • Proficient in Excel and other data analysis tools.
