As a Payroll Specialist (Associate) at Kainos, you will be responsible for supporting services for our global payroll function. You will report to the Payroll Manager but work as part of a wider Finance team within a fast-paced PLC environment to effectively deliver support for the core business.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Looking after international payroll. That includes effective liaising with international payroll providers
- Preparing international payroll data for each pay period in a timely and accurate manner. That includes collating information for joiners, leavers, PALs.
- Generating appropriate reports from Workday system,
- Responsible for accurate data entry on input files
- Responsible for manual calculation of backdated pay, unpaid leave, holiday calculations
- Responsible for manual calculation of pro-rated payments for joiners/leavers
- Responsible for 1st review level of all payroll inputs before they are sent for internal review
- Adhering to strict deadlines
- Preparation and submission of Payment Requests for all jurisdictions
- Assisting senior associates and consultants in complex payroll matters
- Participating in continuous improvement project work
- Resolving Payroll queries including JIRA queries, emails or Teams/Phone calls
- Undertaking general administrative support tasks, such as online filing and document management
MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a payroll environment
- CIPP qualified or equivalent
- Ability to work efficiently and comfortably in prioritising your workload in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
- A self-starter who can work on their own initiatives with minimal supervision
- Sound verbal and written communication skills with both staff and external stakeholders
- We all work in teams here in Kainos – a proven ability of strong team skills, including taking direction from others, is crucial
- Highly flexible, including willingness to work flexible hours at peak times
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures and processes.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in a relevant working environment.
- Experience in processing UK payroll
- Sound knowledge of Workday, or a similar accounting package
