French Payroll Specialist – 6-Month Contract - Remote
Claire’s is a global brand at the forefront of fashion and accessories, and our people are at the heart of our success. We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg during an important transformation project.

About the Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring payroll data is accurately collected, processed, and validated in line with each country’s payroll cycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Payroll Data Management – Collate and transcribe payroll data from Workday into provider templates.
- Validation & Compliance – Generate validation reports to identify any discrepancies before payroll submission.
- Employee & Manager Support – Provide guidance on payroll-related queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with external payroll providers, HR teams, and management to resolve issues efficiently.
- Reporting & Documentation – Maintain accurate payroll records, support audit requirements, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Process Improvement & Training – Assist in training managers to enhance payroll accuracy and contribute to system and project enhancements.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven experience in French payroll, with knowledge of statutory payments and deductions.
- Fluency in French and English – essential for effective communication across our UK and US-based HQs.
- Year-end payroll process knowledge and a solid understanding of payroll compliance.
- Intermediate Excel skills with a strong analytical mindset.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring payroll is processed efficiently.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive mindset, seeking opportunities to improve processes and solve problems effectively.
Location & Work Arrangement
Remote (France-based) or Hybrid (3 days a week in our European HQ in Birmingham, UK).
This is a 6-month contract to support our payroll transformation project.
