About the role

We operate Guinness packaging facilities at Marshalls Road in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Runcorn, in Northwest England, packaging canned, bottled and kegged product for Ireland, the UK and export markets.

This role is site based at Diageo’s east Belfast packaging facility is a 12-acre site running a 24/7 operation and is supplied with beer from St James Gate brought to the site in bulk tankers, which each hold up to 30,000 litres of beer. The site packages over 20 brands, including Guinness Draught, Extra Stout and Foreign Extra Stout, Harp, Hop House 13, Smithwick’s and Rockshore.

As a key member of our production team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining high-quality standards on the line. You’ll be responsible for operating and supervising packaging machinery in line with standard operating procedures, focusing on reducing setup time and ensuring a smooth shift handover.

You’ll also carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating equipment, and responding promptly to any issues that arise.

Health and safety will be a top priority in this role, and you’ll take an active part in ensuring compliance while helping us meet key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality, hygiene, waste reduction, and overall efficiency.

About you

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be a proactive team player who’s confident making decisions and enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and who can communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels across the site.

You’ll be ambitious, ready to support current Team Leaders, and eager to grow into a leadership role yourself.

You should also bring a continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to suggest new ideas and drive positive change in our manufacturing processes. This will be backed by excellent communication and a commitment to operational excellence.

Shifts
This role requires you to work a 42hr week continental day / night shift pattern. x2 12-hour days, x2 12-hour nights with 4 days off. Repeat.
