What you’ll be doing.Working within the Supply Chain Management Electron Microscopy department, at ZEISS, we are looking for an Operational Buyer to support daily operations through meticulous attention to detail in ensuring commodities are ordered, managed through delivery and arrive on time.Acting as the first point of contact, you will manage relationships with external and internal partners, as you efficiently co-ordinate information flow.You will manage the relationship with the external suppliers daily and ensure material availability for the Cambourne Volume Manufacturing Plant and Oberkochen Plant. You will:

  • Manage order-to-delivery cycles including expediting, delivery date monitoring, and proactive delay mitigation
  • Ensure accuracy of material master data and maintaining vendor information in SAP
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication
  • Participate in value stream mapping and process improvement workshops
  • Work closely with Production Planning to optimise material availability
