We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Motor Control Engineer, level I, based near Athens, Greece.

Job Description

As a Motor Control Engineer, you will join a highly motivated team dedicated to developing innovative solutions for customers in the Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Robotics, and Industrial Automation sectors. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of our motor control algorithms. You will work closely with Firmware, Validation, and Field Application Engineers to fulfil the requirements of our Engineering department. Additionally, you will conduct fault investigations and resolve issues as they arise. We are Roboteq, an Internationally renowned maker of Motor Controllers and Navigation Sensors for Mobile Robots. We are seeking a specialist in motion control:

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in defining requirements and develop advanced motor control algorithms focusing on various types of motors (SPM, IPM, IM), etc.
  • Assist in existing motor control algorithms maintenance.
  • Support the safety and reliability analysis of motor control algorithms to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of technical documents, test procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Contribute to technical design and implementation reviews, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions for product and process innovations.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with specialty on Electric Machines and Drives or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in motor control or related projects.
  • Basic proficiency in Simulink for modeling and simulation of motor control systems.
  • Familiarity with motor drives modeling, as well as inverter and control systems design concepts.
  • Experience or coursework in embedded microcontroller programming; knowledge of ARM Cortex (STM32, NXP) microprocessors is considered as a plus.
  • Proficiency in English, with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills in motor control engineering.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a passion for driving innovation and learning.
