Job Summary
The successful candidate will be part of the requisition engineering team, focusing on customer project execution. They will predominantly work on modifications and enhancements to the standard products to meet customer requirements.
The job location is at the GE Grid Solutions M&D headquarters, Lisburn, NI.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Regularly report project progress to the delivery manager, ensuring alignment of own tasks with agreed milestone dates. You should communicate issues prompt and in language or format right for the intended audience.
  • Resolve issues using established procedures, A3, 5 Why, 8D, FMEA, RCA, and others. Consult supervisor or more senior team members on complex issues.
  • Develop expert knowledge of our M&D product portfolio and provide support with specialized ability or technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate and develop strong customer relationships, exchange technical information, ask questions, confirm specifications, and customer use case.
  • Daily use of SolidWorks software to import, design and store part models, drawings, and create content.
  • Participate in supplier calls or face-to-face meetings as needed. Adapting designs where required to align with design for manufacture principles, cost optimisation, repeatability, tolerance alignment, approvals for use of alternative materials.
  • Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or experience, blending technical ability with commercial awareness.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, and execute projects.
  • Experienced in providing support for direct team and other functions within the business. Client-driven, accountable, one-team mindset.
