Are you looking for a career move that will put you at the heart of a global financial institution? Then bring your skills in analysis, problem solving and communication to Citi’s Transaction Monitoring Team.

By Joining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

Team/Role Overview

The Transaction Monitoring Team was set up five years ago and sits within the Markets Non-Financial Risk Management Team. We run conduct-related surveillances covering Markets trading activity globally, partnering with Technology and Quantitative Analytics teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that detect potential market abuse.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing our ongoing controls assessment process, including assessing controls effectiveness and reporting results to management.  You’ll also co-ordinate the independent testing of our controls, working closely with assurance and audit teams.  Finally, you’ll be part of our programme management team to drive progress reporting and improve control oversight across the function.

This role gives significant opportunity for development such as:

  • Exposure to a wide variety of stakeholders within and outside Markets Conduct Risk

  • Ability to own and shape processes, making them sustainable and strategic

  • Gaining in-depth knowledge and experience in conduct risk, especially market abuse and manipulation risks

What we’ll need from you

Our team members are collaborative, self-starters, and analytical, and have a keen desire to learn and develop. In this role, you’ll bring:

  • Good understanding of risk and control frameworks, preferably from a Financial Services background

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in continuous process improvement

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills; able to multitask while paying attention to detail

  • Strong MS Excel skills; comfortable working with large datasets and producing clear and concise analysis

  • Great stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate to achieve the right outcomes

  • Experience of working with Internal Audit, Compliance Testing and Regulatory response teams would be an advantage

What we can offer you

This is a role that offers broad stakeholder engagement and the ability to collaborate with a wide range of subject matter experts. The role itself is wide ranging and offers a great opportunity to develop a depth and breadth of skills that can drive your career.

We work hard to have a positive financial and social impact on the communities we serve. In turn, we put our employees first and provide the best-in-class benefits they need to be well, live well and save well.

By joining Citi Belfast, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed), and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits such as:

  • Generous holiday allowance starting at 27 days plus bank holidays; increasing with tenure

  • A discretional annual performance related bonus

  • Private medical insurance packages to suit your personal circumstances

  • Employee Assistance Program

  • Pension Plan

  • Paid Parental Leave

  • Special discounts for employees, family, and friends

  • Access to an array of learning and development resources

Alongside these benefits Citi is committed to ensuring our workplace is where everyone feels comfortable coming to work as their whole self every day.  We want the best talent around the world to be energized to join us, motivated to stay, and empowered to thrive.

Sounds like Citi has everything you need? Then apply to discover the true extent of your capabilities.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
