This is how you can make a difference at Abbott:

As a Quality Assurance Manager you will lead a team of quality professionals. You will also develop both process and quality controls for our Third Party Manufacturer in Fermoy. This role will be based at our TPM in Fermoy, Cork and will require occasional travel for training and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain an effective Quality System within the Third-Party Manufacturing organization.

  • Ensure appropriate Quality Management System and process controls at the Third Party Manufacturer to yield high quality material and products.

  • Develop and implements quality assurance strategies.

  • Assesses potential risks, ensures compliance, and gives recommendations.

  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI regulations, etc.). Supports audits and regulatory inspections, readiness, and associated actions.

  • Liaise on Third Party Manufacturer quality issues and continuous improvement - Works cross functionally with Operations/Engineering, Supplier Quality and Supply Chain to lead investigations for supplier quality issues and works on improvements in quality.

  • Proactively communicates quality issues to Third Party Manufactures as needed through supplier quality system audits, supplier corrective action requests, and technical discussions.

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with Third Party manufacturers

  • Recruits, coaches and develops talent.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, Engineering/ Science disciplines preferred

  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing environment including leadership experience.

  • Leadership and people management experience.

  • Problem solving.

  • Communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
